Building Ventures: Thirteen Years (2013–2026)

Reflections on thirteen years of venture building — from a one-person digital studio in 2013 to a portfolio of agentic AI platforms in 2026.

In 2013, I started building digital products with a simple belief: craft matters.

Thirteen years later, that belief hasn’t changed. Everything around it has.

2013–2018: The craft foundation

CMDA Agency began as a studio — one person, a laptop, and an obsession with making things that felt transcendent. WebGL experiments, bespoke brand experiences, interfaces that made people stop scrolling.

The lesson from those years: craft is non-negotiable. Every pixel, every interaction, every loading state earns its place. If it doesn’t feel considered, it isn’t finished.

2018–2023: Scale without dilution

The agency grew. Franchise model. More clients. More complexity. The challenge became: how do you scale craft without turning it into a production line?

The answer was systems. Not features — systems. Architecture, automation, and experience treated as one cohesive organism.

VICTTORY and REPULIZE came out of this thinking: applying the same architectural rigour to a sportech network and a reputation intelligence platform.

2023–2026: The agentic era

VYLIOX was the pivot. If agencies spend months building what should take minutes, the bottleneck isn’t talent — it’s infrastructure.

So we built infrastructure that thinks.

AgentPay Cards followed: programmable money governed by autonomous AI agents. Then CMDA Agency’s evolution into an agent-native studio model.

What I’ve learned

Start with the problem, not the technology. Every venture in this portfolio exists because a real bottleneck needed solving — not because “AI” was a trend.

Build for the whole, not the part. Systems thinking isn’t a buzzword. It’s the only approach that survives complexity.

The best craft is invisible. Users shouldn’t notice the architecture. They should just feel that everything works, everything flows, everything is alive.

What’s next

The agentic thesis is still unfolding. The next chapter isn’t about building more ventures — it’s about building the infrastructure that lets any venture think, adapt and scale autonomously.

Thirteen years in, and the best work is still ahead.
